Introduction to the brief

Introduction

For my next University task I have been given the category 'Gothic Horror', I am so excited to start this as I love all fiction/myths/monsters anything abnormal. I have been given a range of Gothic horror books which I  have to choose one and identify a character that draws my attention, I must gather as much information as I can on this character and this will be the start of my Make-up look.

The Books I have to choose from are;
  • The Picture of Dorian Grey - Oscar Wilde
  • Dracula - Bram Stoker
  •  Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
  • The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - Robert Louis Stevenson
  • Frankenstein - Mary J Shelley
  • The Fall of the House of Usher - Edgar Allan Poe
  • The Turn of the Screw - Henry James
  • The Castle of Otranto - Horace Walpole
  • The Mysterious of Uldolpho - Ann Radcliffe
  • The Monk - Matthew Gregory Lewis
  • Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
  • Northanger Abbey - Jane Austin
  • Vathek  - William Beckford
  • Wuthering Heights - Emily  Bronte
  • Carmilla - Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu
I think these all are very interesting reads but I am gong to look more in detail to get a feel of what the books entail before I choose one to read, I have heard of a few and have read 'Mary J Shelley's- Frankenstein' but I want to read something new and choose a character from scratch.
